Chronicle is basically a new business unit that will sell cybersecurity software to Fortune 500 companies.
It looks like Google now wants to become a big player in corporate computing.
However, Google X now announced a new spinoff focusing entirely on cybersecurity, dubbed Chronicle.
The new unit will focus on detecting threats by analyzing and storing security related information within large enterprises.
Chronicle will use Googles infrastructure to detect threats faster and at a broader scan than the existing system.
VirusTotal was acquired by Google in 2012 which is now nested under Chronicle.
