Online shopping has been a trend for the past few years.
These verification codes can pile up, bury important messages, and make your SMS inbox a mess.
To address SMS management issues, iOS 17 introduced a new feature that deletes OTP and verification codes automatically.

This feature is very useful and helps to keep your inbox clean & organized.
Enabling the feature will force your iPhone to scan the messages and emails for standard OTP formats.
Heres how to unlock the feature on iPhone.

To get started, launch theSettingsapp on your iPhone.
When the prefs app opens, scroll down and tap onPasswords.
You must authenticate with the FaceID/Touch ID or Passcode.

On the Passwords screen, tap onPassword Options.
On the Password options screen, scroll to the Verification Codes section.
Next, turn onthe toggle for Delete After Use or Clean Up Automatically.

This will turn on the feature on your iPhone.
From now on, your iPhone will automatically delete the verification codes received in messages & mail after use.
This is because the feature only deletes the auto-filled codes.

So, you also need to fire up the auto-fill for passwords and passkeys on your iPhone.
Launch theSettingsapp on your iPhone.
On the Password Options, fire up the toggle forAutoFill Passwords and Passkeys.
