Facebook allows you to turn off message requests altogether.

However, you must make a few changes to the Messenger apps privacy prefs.

Unfortunately, you cant disable message requests from the Messenger web version.

First, open theMessenger appon your Android rig and tap on yourprofile picture.
This will open Messenger configs.

Scroll down and choose the optionPrivacy.
On the Privacy page, tap on theMessage Deliveryoption.
UnderMessage Delivery, you will find many options.

Open your Facebook account.

Next, tap on theMessengericon at the top right corner.
On the Chats screen, choose thethree dotsas shown below.
On the menu that appears, selectPreferences.

On the Preferences, clickManage message delivery.
Scroll down to the how you get message requests section.
Next, click theMessage Requestsbutton beside For friends of friends and others on Messenger.

On the prompt that appears, selectDont Receive Requests.
