Microsoft has unveiled the new media player app in a blog post.
The update to the new Media Player will replace the Groove Music app.
Inside the media player app, the user canbrowse and play music and also can create and manage playlists.

Both in full-screen mode and the mini player option, it shows the album art and artist imagery.
As per the blog post, the Media player will support videos as well.
Generally, in Windows 10 and Windows 11, there is a separate Films & TV app.

In the app, you might browse, manage and watch the local videos.
Also, the content that includes music and video folders on your PC will be seen automatically.
The app is designed to replace the Windows Media Player app that is still available in Windows 11.
According to the company, this legacy app will be available in Windows Tools.
